1. What kind of educational background is needed to become a Crime Scene Investigator?

At the Nampa Police Department our Crime Scene Investigators are sworn police officers. They have varied educational backgrounds. Some have Bachelors degrees, while others have many years of law enforcement experience. All of them are POST certified officers. The only exception to this is the Criminalist Position which is a civilian position. This position requires a BS in a scientific field. CSI Network
