This course is designed for experienced swimmers ages 15 and older that want to
become Red Cross Lifeguards. Advanced skills are taught and information about lifesaving techniques will be presented. Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certifications are awarded upon successful completion of the course. Course prerequisites are: 300-yard swim using front crawl and breaststroke, retrieval of a 10-pound brick from 7ft of water and two minutes of treading water with no hands. If you are unsure whether you can complete the prerequisites, sign up for a skills evaluation. Refund request must be made 4 business days before start of class.

Sponsored by the Nampa Recreation Department offered in cooperation with the Nampa School District, this program will provide an opportunity for girls in the 5th and 6th grade to learn basic volleyball skills and teamwork in a recreational environment. Children register on a team coached by a parent volunteer. Each week, teams will have two 1-hour practices. Matches are played on Saturday mornings. Coaches needed! If you are interested in working with or coaching a team let us know on your child’s registration form.

Women’s Self-Defense & Fitness
This class is designed for women of all ages, sizes and athletic abilities and covers:
situational awareness, releases, proper falling and recovery techniques, effective punches, strikes, and kicks, improved fitness and basic martial arts etiquette. Students should wear loose fitting clothing, such as sweat pants and a t-shirt. It is recommended that an adult accompanies youth 12-17 years.
