  1. Nampa's State of the City 2019

    March 20, 2019, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM @ Columbia High School

    Mayor Debbie Kling invites the community to Nampa’s State of the City on Wed., March 20, 2019 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Columbia High School with the theme “Moving Forward.” The address is free to attend and seating at the Columbia High School auditorium is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Immediately following the address, the community is invited to a reception with appetizers prepared by students of the Nampa School District culinary arts program from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. as well as light entertainment by the NNU Jazz Band. The cost of the reception will be $5 and the deadline to RSVP is March 13 for food planning purposes. The 2019 State of the City Presenting Sponsors are Brown & Caldwell, HDR, Saint Alphonsus and St. Luke’s and the Reception Sponsor is Republic Services. Proceeds from sponsorship benefit the Mayor’s Teen Council program.

  2. American Red Cross Babysitter Training

    In this one-day class learn information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents and guardians. Course includes handbook, Emergency Reference Guide and CD with fun activities and support resources. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Red Cross Babysitter Training Ages 11-15

  3. Red Cross Lifeguard Training

    March 25, 2019, All Day @ Nampa Recreation Center

    This course is designed for experienced swimmers ages 15 and older that want to become Red Cross Lifeguards. Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certifications are awarded upon successful completion of the course. Course prerequisites are: 300 yard swim using front crawl and breaststroke, retrieval of a 10 pound brick from 7ft of water and two minutes of treading water with no hands. If you are unsure whether you can complete the prerequisites, sign up for a skills evaluation. Refund request must be made 4 business days before start of class.

The Nampa Rec Dept has partnered with Blazing Hope Youth Family Ranch to offer this spring break day camp and answer basic horse care and riding questions. Long pants and closed toe shoes required.   6. Jr. Lifeguard Boot Camp

    March 27, 2019, All Day @ Nampa Recreation Center

    Learn about what it takes to be a lifeguard, such as recognizing a drowning victim, how to assist someone who is struggling in the water and how to perform CPR and first aid. You must be able to swim 25 yards front crawl and 25 yards breaststroke as well as tread water for one minute and float for 30 seconds on your back. Upon completion each student will receive an American Red Cross CPR and First Aid Certification. Ages 11-14

  7. Ultimate Frisbee League

    Our league is a low cost and exciting way to play Ultimate Frisbee whether you’re an experienced player or an athlete looking to utilize your unique skills in a new game. Frisbees will be provided for the games. Teams will play 7 on 7 games on Saturday mornings. Each team will play 8 games followed by a double elimination tournament. Games begin April 20 at Liberty Park.
