The Lone Star Road and N. Middleton Road intersection will be closed Monday, March 8 through Sunday, March 14, 2021 to restore the Wilson Drain to its original alignment.
Lone Star Middle School students who may normally walk to school by crossing the Lone Star Road and Middleton Road intersection are asked to ride on a school bus for safety purposes during the week of March 8. Temporary bus stops will be located at:
- Middleton Rd. and W. Delaware Ave.
- Bus #147 pick-up at 6:51 a.m. / drop-off at 3:06 p.m.
- Lone Star Rd. and N. Jefferson St.
- Bus #134 pick-up at 6:52 a.m. / drop-off at 3:05 p.m.
Detour signs will be in place during the intersection closure; residents/businesses will continue to have access. Drivers who need to access Lone Star Middle School, including staff and parents/guardians who drop-off or pick-up students, will need to approach the school from Midway Road, located west of the school (see attached map). Buses will continue to access Lone Star Middle School from Roosevelt Avenue.
About the project: The first phase of this project has involved extending the Wilson Drain culverts under Lone Star Road and Middleton Road and is expected to be completed March 14. The second phase of this project will include intersection widening and signal installation; the timeline for the second phase is still being finalized.
