Council also voted to update the number of commissioners on NDC from five members to six members. Beginning October 1, NDC will be made up of two Nampa Council members and four members at-large.
Nampa Mayor Kling shared, “Kenton and Wendy are two valued and respected community members within Nampa and will be an asset to the Nampa Development Corporation. We appreciate all of those who are selflessly volunteering on the City of Nampa’s boards and commissions as they help guide decisions for Nampa’s future.”
Kenton Lee is a lifelong resident of Nampa and founded a nonprofit called Because International and shoe company called GroFive. "As a lifelong Nampa guy, I have grown to love this community. If there is something I can do to bring more success to our great city - I consider it an honor to jump in and help. Looking forward to serving on the board of the NDC," Lee said.
Wendy Rhodes is a business development specialist with TitleOne and has lived in Nampa for almost 20 years. Rhodes shared, “I am excited to serve Nampa on the Nampa Development Corporation board. I count it an honor and privilege to be appointed to this board and do not take the responsibility lightly.”
The Nampa Development Corporation Board of Commissioners guides Nampa’s urban renewal projects. Their monthly meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 8:00 a.m. in council chambers at Nampa City Hall. Board members do not receive compensation for service. The NDC was established in 2006 to oversee the development of multiple public and public/private projects within the downtown area and within the Nampa Industrial area.
