City of Nampa closures due to coronavirus

Due to the recent increase in coronavirus exposures, the City of Nampa will be move back to operating with certain city buildings closed to the public. The closures are to ensure we have adequate staff to perform the services required by our citizens.

Nampa City Hall will remain open but we ask that transactions take place via email or phone to limit in-person contact. When entering City Hall, to reduce exposure to our employees, face coverings are strongly encouraged.

The Development Services Center, located at 500 12th Avenue South will be closed to the public beginning July 8 thru Aug 3, 2020. This closure includes the following departments: Building Safety & Facilities Development, Economic & Community Development, Engineering / GIS, Environmental Compliance, Planning & Zoning and Public Works Administration. Meetings, if needed, will be scheduled by appointment, or take place via webinar.

Building Department will be available to service clients by phone (208-468-5435) and email (buildingpermits@cityofnampa.us).

  • If needed, please call to coordinate a drop off or pick up of hard copy permits that are ready to submit or issue.
  • Processing of online residential, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical permits will continue.
  • Please note that staff will practice social distancing.

Planning & Zoning will be accessible via phone (208-468-4430) and email (pzall@cityofnampa.us) and will continue to perform inspections as deemed necessary. Public hearings will be noticed as usual and will offer webinar testimony and distanced in-person if required

Environmental Compliance will be available to service clients by phone (208-565-5257) and email (jenkinse@cityofnampa.us).

Public Works Administration Office will be closed to in-person meetings; however, office staff will be available to answer your questions by phone (208-565-6262) and email (mccreet@cityofnampa.us).

City of Nampa Library: 

  • Beginning July 8, the library lobby will be closed until August 10th at the earliest
  • Curbside pickup will still be available along with an added alleyway pickup between the library and parking garage
  • Hours will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 12pm-4pm and Thursday 2pm – 6pm

Clerk’s Office / Passports: Passport service is currently suspended by the Federal Government. We will continue to process online permits and licenses (https://cityofnampa.us/143/City-Clerk). Staff is available to respond to phone (208-468-5426) and email (clerks@cityofnampa.us) communication. To ensure an online application was received, and to confirm any required payment, please call. The clerk’s office is still processing the following applications: alarm installers, alcohol (beer, wine and liquor), amusement, catering, concessions, peddlers, private investigators, special event permit, and tree removal and pruning. The clerk’s office is also processing public records requests online.

Utility Billing: Will remain open but we encourage business to be conducted via phone or the website, phone (208-468-5711) or drive-thru drop box located outside utility billing. Questions can be emailed to utility@cityofnampa.us.

The Nampa Recreation Center and City of Nampa Golf Courses will remain open at this time.

The City of Nampa has also established the following communication channels to share information and updates with the public:

  • Email questions or concerns specific to COVID-19 in our community to nampaready@cityofnampa.us.
  • A new website dedicated to information related to COVID-19 is available at cityofnampa.us/coronavirus.
  • The City of Nampa will continue to post updates primarily through our website, Nextdoor and Facebook, as well as Instagram and Twitter.

The safety and well-being of our residents, first responders, health care workers, and employees is our first priority. We will continue to follow recommendations from SW District Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local authorities. We appreciate the community’s support, help and patience during this challenging season.
