Nampa Library

The Nampa Public Library has been in its new location for five years and invites everyone to attend a celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2020.

On Saturday, March 14, 2015 the Nampa Public Library opened its doors to the public for the first time in its beautiful new building, and welcomed over 8,000 people into the community facility. Five years later, on March 14, 2020, we will be celebrating and reflecting on the positive impact the new facility has made in our community.

In the last five years, the library has hosted over 20,500 outside events and meetings and has welcomed over 1,628,993 people through its doors.

The birthday celebration includes:

  • 10:30-10:45 a.m.: Comments from Mayor Kling, Library Director and Library Foundation
  • 11-11:45 a.m.: Performance by Idaho Arts Charter School’s Global Beats
  • 10 a.m.-1 p.m.: Button making, art projects, the Materials Services Experience (create your own books!), cupcakes and birthday hats. Children’s Dentistry is bringing their MONSTER TRUCK! They will be in the alley and children can see the monster truck and take plenty of photos with it!
  • Back-of-house SVEN Tour (book sorter): 10:15 a.m., 10:45 a.m., 12:15 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. (15-minute tours)
  • Scavenger Hunt - ALL DAY!

The Nampa Library Bookmobile Campaign will be launched at this event. This joint effort between the Nampa Public Library Foundation, the Board of Trustees, and library staff will raise private donations to purchase Nampa’s first bookmobile. The bookmobile will bring literacy and learning to every section of the city with stops at schools, parks, apartment complexes, shopping centers, the Nampa Senior Center, retirement homes and community events.

ALSO ANNOUNCED! The Nampa Library Foundation will also announce the chosen artist whose work will be displayed in the Local History Area on the third floor.

For additional information on this program, and other library programs, visit our event calendar at or phone 208-468-4474. The Nampa Public Library is located at 215 12th Ave S. in Nampa. All programs and events at the library are provided to the public free of charge.
