[ARCHIVED] Nampa Police arrest male subject in connection to business burglaries

Nampa Police press release logo with Nampa Police badge

Early this morning 5 Nampa businesses including 4 Vape shops and 1 Pawn business reported attempted break-ins or burglaries. Officers responded via alarm or phone call from the business. Through surveillance video, officers could identify a potential suspect vehicle. Our crime analysis unit connected the suspect vehicle to an earlier call in the morning in which a citizen reported a similar vehicle at a local auto dealership at an unusual time of day.

Thanks to this alert citizen we were able to identify suspects, which ultimately lead to a 17-year-old male Nampa resident, being arrested for the burglary and vandalism of these businesses. Investigators are continuing to follow up on this case and identify any other possible suspects. The 17-year-old male faces 5 counts of burglary, 5 counts of vandalism and 1 count of petit theft.

We appreciate the community’s investment in crime prevention in their neighborhood and we strongly encourage the public to report activity that is suspicious or unusual as soon as possible. Together we are much more successful at crime reduction and keeping our community safe.

18-1403. PUNISHMENT FOR BURGLARY. Burglary is punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for not less than one (1) nor more than ten (10) years.
