Long replaces Dr. Bobby Sanchez as Chief of Staff who was named the new Workforce Development Director at the June 3 Nampa City Council meeting.
Long has been with the Nampa School District for the past four years as an Administrator for Career & Technical Education and assisted with the oversight of 28 career pathways. Long is active in multiple statewide organizations in addition to the Nampa Chamber of Commerce. Long also serves as a volunteer firefighter with the Upper Deer Flat Fire Department and is pursuing his doctorate in Educational Leadership through Northwest Nazarene University. Long holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration (Lewis-Clark State College) and graduate degrees in Educational Leadership (Master of Education from Concordia University and Educational Specialist from NNU).

The Chief of Staff position provides oversight to the city’s risk management program, overall city assessment & strategic planning, boards and commissions, and represents the Mayor when needed at meetings and events, among other duties. Long will begin July 1, 2019.
