The City of Nampa invites the public to attend and participate in the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee meeting Thurs., February 21, 2019 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Nampa City Hall (411 3rd St. S., Nampa, ID 83651).
The February 21 meeting will discuss components of the strategic plan including mission, vision, values and focus areas. Information and feedback from previous meetings will also be briefly summarized.
The advisory committee will meet a fifth time on March 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Nampa City Hall to review the updated draft comprehensive plan in its entirety. Beginning in May, Mayor Kling will embark on a summer listening tour to capture public comment on the draft plan. The final updated plan is anticipated to be presented to the advisory committee in the fall before being presented to the Nampa City Council in October for possible adoption.
The Comprehensive Plan is used to guide growth and development in Nampa. The plan is meant to represent the community's vision about where different types of development should occur and how quality of life can be enhanced for all residents. The plan covers a range of topics including economic development, housing, land use, transportation, parks and public services.
Nampa's current Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2012 after a two-year intensive process with participation from more than 300 residents. With continued growth, a detailed review of the plan and its goals is now warranted. The current Comprehensive Plan looks to the year 2035 and this update will consider needs up to the year 2040.
The Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee is open to community members who would like to provide feedback at open houses and through surveys. If you are willing to serve on the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee, please RSVP to Communications Manager Amy Bowman at email@example.com or call 208-565-5256.
