Sleigh Ride & Dinner
Join Nampa Rec Center as we travel ‘back in time’ during an evening sleigh ride to the winter wonderlands of Garden Valley. Dress warm and bring a loved one to snuggle with as draft horses lead us through the snow with chances to view elk up close. Includes transportation, sleigh ride and dinner.

CPR/AED & First Aid Class
Course is designed to teach participants to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. Upon successful completion of the course, participants are issued a 2-year certification through the American Red Cross.

Traditions Tang Soo Do
This class teaches self-confidence, builds self-esteem and improves balance, while establishing discipline and courtesy towards others. Participants will learn age appropriate self-defense and weapons training. These classes are nonviolent; sparring is optional.

The sport form of judo uses scientific principles to throw, trip, sweep or otherwise propel one’s opponent to the mat. Once there, the same theories apply to control and immobilize the opponent to achieve victory in competition. Safety, sportsmanship, self-discipline, cooperation and FUN are the emphasis in the youth class. Cost does not include uniform, see instructor for price.

Tai Chi Classes
The beginning class covers the fundamentals of Tai Chi including: basic movements, breathing, meditation, warm-up form and an introduction on the Yang Style Short form. The intermediate class continues with movements, breathing, meditation, the Yang Short form, Yang Long form and an introduction to push hands (Tai Chi sparring).
Includes Vital Records, Census, other sources, creating and maintaining your own records.

Red Cross Lifeguard Training
This course is designed for experienced swimmers ages 15 and older that want to become Red Cross Lifeguards. Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certifications are awarded upon successful completion of the course. Course prerequisites are: 300-yard swim using front crawl and breaststroke, retrieval of a 10 pound brick from 7ft of water and two minutes of treading water with no hands. If you are unsure whether you can complete the prerequisites, sign up for a skills evaluation. Refund request must be made 4 business days before start of class.

Strength Training for Women
This six-week course will cover a variety of equipment and free weights helping you to feel more comfortable in the weight room. You will learn more about weight room etiquette and jargon, safe and effective training techniques, the five fitness components and their benefits, and have lots of time to practice what you learn!

Women’s Self-Defense & Fitness
This class is designed for women of all ages, sizes and athletic abilities and covers: situational awareness, releases, proper falling and recovery techniques, effective punches, strikes, and kicks, improved fitness and basic martial arts etiquette. Students should wear loose fitting clothing, such as sweat pants and a t-shirt. It is recommended that an adult accompanies youth 12-17 years.
Includes Cemetery searching, beyond the usual Census, dealing with Brick Walls and more.
Adult Ballroom Dance Class
Instruction will cover a single dance each month chosen from popular styles: Rumba, Tango, Salsa, Cha-Cha, Swing, Foxtrot & Waltz. Classes run monthly in four-week increments.

Learn simple and easy to use techniques that will make your life as a parent more enjoyable and less stressful while raising more responsible children. Pickleball is a combination of badminton, tennis and ping pong. It is played on a badminton size court using a whiffle ball and composite paddle. It is easy for beginners to learn and can develop into competitive play for experienced players. Gym shoes required.

Splash N’ Dash
We do the splashing… parents do the dashing! Parents, enjoy a Friday evening with each other while we entertain your children in the pools! For four (4) hours our certified lifeguard and lesson staff will be in the water actively supervising, playing water games and having a blast swimming around. Pick up can be anytime before 9:45pm. Pre-registration is required.

This course is designed to educate and certify individuals looking to become USA Slow-pitch Softball umpires. The course will cover the official USA Slow-pitch Softball rules and guidelines, field drills to improve play calling and a take home certification test. Students who receive certification will have the opportunity to begin working in local Softball leagues and tournaments.

Ever wonder what it is like to breathe underwater? Find out in a PADI Discover Scuba Diving Adventure. In just one evening participants will receive instruction on safety and diving skills.

Spike Ball Tournament
Whether this is your first time, or you have been enjoying this growing sport, be sure to come try your hand in the fun at the Nampa Rec Center after the building has closed. The tournament will be double elimination. Each match is determined by the results of a best of three sets with each set played up to 21 points (win by two). Ages 14 and up with parent signature.
$30/team (Register by February 20)
These indoor youth soccer classes are designed to develop motor skills, promote physical fitness, and create self confidence in kids using a variety of fun soccer enriched games. It also teaches listening and following instructions. Some parent participation during class will be required.

The Idaho State Museum has reopened after a 4-year renovation. Join the Nampa Rec Dept as we visit the recently expanded museum in downtown Boise. We will stop & eat as we head back to Nampa. Includes transportation, admission & lunch.
