On October 16, 2018, at 9:46 a.m., Nampa Police officers were notified that a female with an active felony warrant was at a residence in the 1300 block of South Garland Street. Officers responded to the scene and the wanted female barricaded herself inside of the residence. The homeowner had already left the residence when officers arrived.

The wanted female was identified as Susan Lee Swan, a 48-year-old Caldwell resident.  During the beginning of the standoff, a gunshot was heard from inside of the residence. Several times during the standoff, Swan exited and entered the residence and had a rifle in her possession.

Nampa Police Special Operations Group responded to the residence. Nampa Police negotiators were able to establish phone communication with Swan. During the incident, power was cut off to the residence with the assistance of Idaho Power. The negotiators were able to get Swan to exit the residence at about 4:31 p.m., where she was placed into custody without further incident.

Swan was transported to the Canyon County Jail where she was booked in on the felony, failure to appear warrant, 15,000-dollar bond.
