The city of Nampa will begin night work on 2nd Street South which will be closed to traffic from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. tonight. Traffic will be detoured (Detour 1 on the map) via 16th Avenue South (SH-45) to 7th Street South to 12th Avenue South.
Crews are paving 3rd Street South today and will shift traffic to the newly paved north side of the street tomorrow. The contractor will then begin night work Wednesday to excavate the south side of 3rd Street South. Night work will continue through Friday. Traffic on 3rd Street South (Detour 2 on the map) will be detoured via 12th Avenue South to 7th Street South to 16th Avenue South.

The rebuild is needed to improve the severely deteriorated pavement. Sidewalk corners will also be improved to fit Downtown Historic Streetscape Standards and to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Several underground utilities are also being upgraded.
The $2.8 million project is scheduled to be complete in late August. The contractor is Idaho Materials and Construction of Nampa.
