On May 1, 2018, at 4:07 p.m., Nampa Police dispatchers were advised of a possible armed robbery that had just occurred at Los Betos restaurant in the 16000 block of Idaho Center Boulevard. Officers were responding to that business and at approximately 4:16 p.m. another robbery was reported at the Port of Subs restaurant in the 5800 block of East Franklin Road.

At the Los Betos restaurant, the suspect entered the business and demanded money. An employee of the business thought she observed a handgun in the suspect’s waistband area but it was never brandished. The employee gave a small undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect and he put it into a backpack and fled the scene. Nobody was injured during this robbery. A witness observed a male run out of the business around the north end of the building and get into a vehicle.

The suspect is described as a white male, mid-20’s, with a long dark-colored beard, wearing a dark sweatshirt, dark-colored basketball shorts with an orange stripe, knit beanie with an American flag design, no shoes, black short socks and carrying a red backpack. The suspect got into a green mini-van that is possibly an early 2000’s model.

A short while later at the Port of Subs restaurant, a male suspect entered the business and demanded cash from an employee. The suspect quickly fled the restaurant northbound on foot. The suspect did not steal anything from the Port of Subs. Nobody was injured during this robbery. The suspect was seen running east in front of the Hampton Inn & Suites in the 5700 block of East Franklin Road and it is unknown where he went from that location. I

After being notified of these robberies, Nampa Police dispatch sent an alert to the College of Western Idaho and a daycare business in the area, notifying them of the incidents occurring close to them. It is believed that the same suspect that committed both of the robberies.

Nampa Police Detectives are currently investigating both robberies. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Nampa Police Department at 208-465-2257. Anonymous information can be left by contacting Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS, on the web at 343cops.com or on the mobile app P3.
