On Dec. 4, at 1:12 p.m., Nampa Police officers were notified of a stabbing that had just occurred at Columbia High School. There were multiple officers at Columbia High School for an unrelated incident who responded to the scene and resolved the situation quickly.
This incident occurred in the student parking lot of the high school. It happened just after a break in classes. Involved were a male and female student, both 17-years-old. The male attacked the female with a knife. Another student intervened and stopped the male students attack. Officers responded to the parking lot where they located and arrested the male. The two students had been in a prior relationship and there was no threat, nor is there any continued threat, to any other students or faculty at the school.
The female was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The male was transported to the Southwest Idaho Juvenile Detention Center and charged with attempted murder.
