[ARCHIVED] Nampa Police investigating suspicious deaths as possible homicide.

On September 14, 2017, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers of the Nampa Police Department responded to an address in the 1900 block of West Flamingo on report of an unattended death. Upon arrival, officers located two deceased individuals at the residence and the nature of the deaths was suspicious. Investigators of the Nampa Police Department and the Canyon County Coroner worked throughout the night on this case which is now being investigated as a homicide.

A person of interest in this incident was taken into custody early this morning on unrelated charges in Deschutes County, Oregon. That person has been identified as William Paul “Willie” Taylor, 48 years old of Nampa. Information received during his arrest, coupled with information at the residence, has led us to believe that the deceased persons are his parents, Paul Robert Taylor, 76 and Mary Jane “Jane” Taylor, 77, both of Nampa and the owners of the residence. An autopsy to be scheduled for early next week with the Medical Examiner is hoped to positively confirm their identities.

William Paul Taylor’s last known address was at his parents address in Nampa. In researching William, it was determined that he was a former Nampa Police Reserve Officer from June of 1990 to October of 1991, when he left to take a job with the Pocatello Police Department. He served with Pocatello Police from October 28th, 1991 until December 20th, 1996.

William is being held on a Canyon County warrant for failure to report a death, felony, $1,000,000 bond and additional charges through Deschutes County.

We believe there is no ongoing threat to the citizens of Nampa that this is an isolated incident.

Anyone with information which may assist in the investigation is encouraged to contact the Nampa Police Department at 468-5680 or 343-COPS, also On-line or Text reporting is available at
