A one vehicle accident North of the intersection of Middleton Rd and Smith Ave has caused a power outage and lane closures. Occurring at approximately 130 a.m., a passenger truck driven by a Nampa man was Northbound when it left the roadway and sheared through one power pole and impacted a second. The man was uninjured and was cited for Inattentive Driving, ID Code 49-1401(3), and released from the scene following the investigation. Idaho Power crews are working on repairing the lines and estimated that power would be restored around 10 a.m. An estimated 1150 houses are affected by the power outage. At this time, both North and South bound lanes are closed between W Kipling Way and Smith Ave on Middleton Rd. Citizens are asked to avoid the area during their morning commute.
