[ARCHIVED] Nampa Police investigating an armed robbery at Sonic restaurant

On April 6, at 12:10 a.m., Nampa Police dispatch was contacted about an armed robbery that had just occurred. The robbery happened in the 1100 block of 12th Avenue Road at the Sonic restaurant.


When the robbery took place, there were two employees inside of the business. The suspect came into the restaurant and grabbed one of the employees. The suspect put the employee in a headlock, put a knife to his neck and then dragged him to the cash register. The suspect took an unknown amount of cash from the register and then fled out of the business and ran south, on foot, from that location.


Nampa police officers responded to the scene and did an area check for the suspect. They were unable to locate anyone in the area matching the description of the suspect.


The suspect is described as a thinly-built male, approximately 6’0” tall, brown eyes and weighing approximately 170 lbs. He was wearing a black sweater, black sweats and had a red bandana over his face. He was described as having a medium-dark complexion. The weapon involved was a 3-4-inch bladed knife.
