[ARCHIVED] Nampa Police make arrests in child enticement incident

Nampa Police Press Release with NPD badge

On March 11, at 3:03 p.m., Nampa police officers responded to a suspicious persons call in the 300 blk. of 10th Avenue North. The information given to Nampa Police was that there was a male subject that was chasing some young children in the area and had fled the scene in a vehicle.

An officer arrived at the location and learned that the male got out of a blue, 1992, Ford F-150 pickup and had chased an 11-year-old male and a 9-year-old female around a residence in that area. The children’s mother came out of the residence and scared the male off. He fled in the Ford pickup. The officer began to search the area for the vehicle and while doing so, the suspect Ford pickup came back by the residence. Some neighbors attempted to stop the vehicle, but it again fled the area. An officer located the vehicle in the 500 blk. of 6th Street North and made a traffic stop on the vehicle.

Two males were detained in this case and taken to the Nampa Police Department where they were interviewed. Those males were identified as Charles E. Roberts, 38 and David J. Roberts, 39, both Caldwell residents. After being interviewed, both were charged with misdemeanor child enticement and were booked into the Canyon County jail.

The Nampa Police Department is interested in speaking with anyone else that might have had similar contact with the two suspects recently. If anyone has further information about the two males in this case, please contact the Nampa Police Department at 465-2257. Information can also be given anonymously by contacting Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS or on the internet at 343COPS.com.
