On Jan. 20, just before 9 a.m., a vehicle approached a child
walking to Lake Ridge Elementary School in the City of Nampa. The driver of the vehicle asked the child if
they needed a ride to school. When the child refused the ride, the driver got
out of the vehicle and asked the child a second time. The child did not accept the ride and quickly
ran to their school where this information was relayed to school staff.
The vehicle description was a smaller white pickup, like a
Ford Ranger, with a white topper. The
driver was described as a 20's white male, approximately 5'8", with
short-combed blonde hair, clean shaven, brown eyes, wearing a white t-shirt and
missing a front tooth.
The Nampa Police Department urges parents to speak with
their children concerning the risks of people offering rides to their children
when they are walking even in the event of bad weather. If your child walks to school have your child
walk with other children, if possible.
If they are approached by a stranger offering a ride, do not respond,
quickly leave the area and tell an adult.
The Nampa Police Department is continuing this investigation. If the public has any information regarding
this child enticement case please call Sgt. Jason Cantrell at 468-5610, Nampa
Police dispatch at 465-2257 or Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
