The Nampa Police Department has added itself to an ever-growing number of police departments that have established an E-Commerce exchange zone. Many law enforcement agencies across the country are establishing safe trading zones for safer transactions for citizens.
“We have designated two parking spaces in the front parking lot that have 24-hour video surveillance for our citizens to use for safer transactions from websites like Craigslist,” said Chief Joe Huff.
Some transactions on Craigslist or other similar websites have turned into robberies or violent encounters. The city of Nampa is interested in keeping its citizens safe and recommends using a safe trading location to make these types of transactions.
“We remind citizens to use caution when making arrangements from online websites. Daytime transactions are recommended so that there are more people around,” Huff said. “This is another service the Nampa Police Department provides to help make our citizens feel safer when making these types of transactions.”
