Nampa Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault

On February 1, 2024, at approximately 11:30 a.m. Nampa Police Dispatch received a call from a female adult reporting her boyfriend had threatened her with a shotgun, was threatening to harm others and he had several weapons in the residence where this occurred in the 1000 block of 16th Avenue South. The victim was no longer in the house, and she believed the suspect was there alone. 


Nampa Police Officers went to the residence to contact the suspect, and he refused to communicate with them in any way. Nampa Police Special Operations Group was activated, to include crisis negotiators, but he still would not communicate. Nampa Police Department’s Tactical Response Team was called upon to gain entry into the residence and they took the suspect into custody without further incident. 


Nicholas Todd Drake, 63 years old, of Nampa was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting or obstructing arrest. He has been transported to the Canyon County Jail.
