Missouri Homicide Suspect Arrested in Nampa, Gun and Explosive Device Recovered

On January 10, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Nampa Police Officers, with the assistance of the U. S. Marshals Service Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force, received an alert on a vehicle that was possibly in the Treasure Valley, and believed to be occupied by a homicide suspect from the state of Missouri. The vehicle was located in Nampa and Nampa Police Officers were able to stop the vehicle near Garrity and Kings.

Richard Michael King-Romero, 37 years old, from Independence, Missouri was arrested, and he is being held at the Canyon County Jail on a fugitive warrant from Missouri.

Nampa Police Officers also located a firearm and explosive device in the vehicle that King-Romero was the passenger in. The Nampa Police Bomb Unit was activated, responded, and rendered the device safe. As a result of the explosive, other charges are pending.
