Following the process outlined in Idaho State Code 50-704, Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling nominated David Bills for Nampa City Council District 3 at the January 2 council meeting and his appointment was confirmed by Nampa City Council. This seat was recently vacated by Natalie Jangula who was elected to District 2 in the recent November election. Councilman Bills was sworn into office following the council confirmation.
Six residents from Council District 3 applied and all applications were reviewed by the nomination review committee. The top three candidates were interviewed and David Bills was the recommendation from the committee.
Mayor Kling said, “Thank you to the number of excellent candidates who applied for this position. Serving the community and members of Council District 3 is a tremendous responsibility. As a previous member of Nampa City Council, long-time Nampa resident and involved community member, David will represent citizens well. David’s competency, character and conservative values will complement our community and the Nampa City Council.
Bills has lived in Nampa since 2000 and previously served on Nampa City Council for two years, on the Nampa Development Corporation and Impact Fee Advisory Committee. He studied at Boise State University and has a general contractor’s license, in addition to a real estate license. Bills has also been active in various faith-related and nonprofit organizations.
Councilman Bills shared, “Thank you to Mayor Kling and Nampa City Council for the vote of confidence. It is an honor to represent those who live in City Council District 3 and to serve alongside the other Nampa City Council members.”
