The City of Nampa is excited to announce the snowplow names chosen by Nampa’s elementary students in this year’s “Name-That-Snowplow” contest! The purpose of the contest is to celebrate the winter season and to recognize the City of Nampa’s Street Division employees whose hard work and dedication helps improve road conditions and safety for our community.
This year, the City of Nampa asked students to use their creativity by submitting names for this year’s snowplows. After all the students’ nominations were submitted and finalists narrowed down, a survey was sent out to the public for their vote.
We are happy to announce the snowplows that will be reporting for duty this winter are…
- Baby Snowda (Kindergarten - Iowa Elementary)
- Pepe Le Plow (1st Grade - Lake Ridge Elementary)
- Oh Snow You Didn’t! (2nd Grade - Ronald Reagan)
- Jack DeFrost (3rd Grade - Centennial Elementary)
- Abominable Snowplow (4th Grade - Franklin D Roosevelt)
- Salt-osaurus Rex (5th Grade - Iowa Elementary)
Earlier this week, the City of Nampa and Nampa School District took photos of the winning snowplow with the school who named it (see attached images).
We appreciate the students and community who participated in this year’s contest.
