On August 15, 2023, the Nampa Development Corporation, an urban renewal agency for the City of Nampa, announced a new incentive for downtown Nampa business and property owners. The NDC Façade Improvement Grant was established to support and encourage small businesses to reinvest in the downtown historic district. The program provides matching grants, reimbursing up to 50% of eligible expenses (not to exceed $50,000) incurred during a comprehensive façade improvement in downtown Nampa. This program is designed to enhance the city’s vitality by supporting revitalization efforts that will create jobs, reduce blight, and preserve and improve structures in the community.
On April 18, 2023, the corporation approved the Downtown Nampa Restaurant Incentive. To incentivize the creation of new jobs, attract new food-related establishments, and create economic growth downtown, food-related business owners may apply for grant funds to partially reimburse (up to 50%) certain projects. Eligible project costs include, but are not necessarily limited to, grease interceptors/traps, City of Nampa permitting fees, and other eligible expenses as approved by the commission.
The third incentive offered by NDC is the Historic Downtown District Sidewalk Incentive Program which was created to strengthen the economic base of the community through the installation of needed public improvements and facilities to stimulate new commercial expansion, employment, and economic growth. This incentive provides $50,000 toward sidewalk improvements that meets City of Nampa streetscape design standards for every $500,000 invested in the adjacent property with a maximum of $100,000 in a $1 million investment.
