The Nampa Golf Commission awarded $12,000 in scholarships to four college-bound students thanks to several local sponsors, 22-hole sponsors and 32 teams participating in the 21st Annual Mayor’s Golf Tournament. The event raises money for summer youth golf programs in Nampa, Mayor’s Teen Council and provides scholarships to high school senior golf students.
The following high school seniors received $3,000 scholarships:
• Camden Arnold, Columbia High School
• Casey Van Patten, Columbia High School
• Orion Vasquez, Ridgevue High School
• Bobby Kincaid, Nampa High School
Major tournament sponsors were: CapEd Credit Union, ¬¬¬¬¬Texas Roadhouse, Republic Services, International Minute Press Nampa, Native Solar, Ford Idaho Center and Nampa Civic Center.
The Nampa Mayor’s Golf Tournament has raised over $240,000 for scholarships and youth golf programs during the 21 years it has been held. Current members for the Nampa Golf Commission are Todd Durbin, June York, Steve Wilson, Craig Stensgaard, Fred Sutton, Bob Nash and Neal Murphy.
