Traditions Tang Soo Do
This class teaches self-confidence, builds self-esteem, and improves balance, while establishing discipline and courtesy towards others. Participants will learn age-appropriate self-defense and weapons training. These classes are non-violent; sparring is optional.
Clothing and Equipment: Students should wear loose fitting clothing, such as sweatpants and a t-shirt. No jewelry or watches during class. A mouth guard and a groin protector cup (males) are recommended.

Indoor Pickleball Lessons
Pickleball is a combination of badminton, tennis, and ping pong. It is played on a badminton size court using a whiffle ball and composite paddle. It is easy for beginners to learn and can develop into competitive play for experienced players. Class is for active older adults.

Tai Chi Classes
The beginning class covers the fundamentals of Tai Chi including basic movements, breathing, meditation, warm-up form and an introduction on the Yang Style Short form. The intermediate class continues with movements, breathing, meditation, the Yang Short form, Yang Long form and an introduction to push hands (Tai Chi sparring).

Women’s Self-Defense & Fitness
This class is designed for women of all ages, sizes, and athletic abilities. The class covers situational awareness, releases, proper falling and recovery techniques, effective punches, strikes, kicks, improved fitness, and basic martial arts etiquette. Students should wear loose fitting clothing, such as sweatpants and a t-shirt. It is recommended that an adult accompanies youth 12-17 years.

Bob Ross Style Painting
Have you ever wanted to paint? Do you think it is possible in just ONE day for you to walk away with a painting that anyone would be proud to display on their wall? Well, it IS, and you CAN! Get Golf Ready Clinic
Get Golf Ready is an opportunity for adults to learn the game of golf in a fun and relaxed environment. The clinics will cover the basic fundamentals of golf, golf etiquette, and provide an on-course experience at the end of the class. All classes will be taught by PGA Professionals and clubs will be provided if needed.

Outdoor Cornhole League
Sign up to compete in our Outdoor Coed Cornhole League. Teams will play a best-of-three self-officiated match every week for a 7-week season with a single elimination tournament to conclude the season. Cancellation scoring will be used. Roster size of 4 maximum. 45 minute time limit. A competitive and recreational division will be available.

Three Island Crossing and the Oregon Trail
Join the Nampa Recreation Department as we visit the Three Island Crossing Visitor’s Center and drive a portion of the Oregon Trail. Trip includes transportation, tour, lunch, and water.

Rappelling Class
This class is designed for individuals who have little or no prior experience in rappelling. Rappelling is the act of descending a rope in a safe and controlled manner. These classes are held the second Friday of the month. Come learn basic rappelling principles at our 30-foot climbing wall. Participants will learn how to descend a rope with an ATC and Figure Eight while having a focus on safety. This class does not cover anchor building for outdoor rappelling. This class is a great way to develop the confidence needed to pursue additional technical skills.

American Red Cross Babysitter Training
In this one-day class learn information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children. Course includes handbook, Emergency Reference Guide and CD with fun activities and support resources. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Red Cross Babysitter Training Certification card. Please bring a sack lunch.

Making Macarons

Youth Strength Training Course
By successfully completing this 4-day course, youth ages 13 and 14 years will be granted use of the weight room including the free weights (some restrictions apply). This course will focus on safe, productive training and practical experience. Participants are required to attend the entire class and pass both a written and practical exam. Classes require preregistration at the Program Desk.

Strength Training for Women
This six-week course will cover a variety of equipment and free weights helping you to feel more comfortable in the weight room. You will learn more about weight room etiquette and jargon, safe and effective training techniques, the five fitness components and their benefits, and have lots of time to practice what you learn!

Nampa Recreation Department T-ball, Baseball & Softball Sponsored by Toyota and Pepsi
This recreation program is designed to promote participation, develop fundamental skills and have fun in a mildly competitive environment. Practices and games will be held at Skyview Park. All players will receive a t-shirt uniform, team hat, certificate of participation and a medal. Players must meet the minimum age requirement on or before June 5, 2023. Programs begin with daily practices (Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs for T-ball) until the season starts. Once the season begins, games will be played 2-3 days a week with no further practices scheduled. Volunteer coaches are always needed!

McCall Lake Cruise
Escape the city for the cool, fresh mountain air of McCall. Join the Nampa Recreation Department as we journey north for the afternoon in McCall, enjoy an opportunity to walk and shop downtown, and a 90-minute boat tour on Payette Lake. Drinks and snacks onboard are available for purchase. Our trip includes transportation and boat tour. You will not want to forget your camera for this beauty!

Archery
Basic Archery: Students will learn basic technique and form using a compound bow. Equipment, safety and elements of shooting will be covered.
Advanced Archery: Class will cover equipment, safety and advanced form and technique using a compound bow.
All classes held at Nampa Bow Chiefs, 222 West Railroad. Equipment is provided. Students may use their own equipment with instructor approval.
Registration deadline is the Friday prior to class.
