The City of Nampa is excited to announce the snowplow names chosen by local elementary students in our “Name-That-Snowplow” contest! The purpose of the contest is to celebrate the winter season and to recognize our Nampa Street Division employees whose hard work and dedication helps improve road conditions and safety for our community.
This is the first time we have officially named our snowplows and invited local elementary teachers from private and public schools to participate in the contest. Students voted for their favorite name out of a list provided to each grade level and the teachers submitted the class favorite.
We are happy to announce the fleet of snowplows who will be reporting for duty this winter are:
- Plowy McPlowface – Kindergarten
- Lightning Mclean - First Grade
- Frosty the Snowplow – Second Grade
- Baby Snowda – Third Grade
- Darth Blader – Fourth Grade
- Fast and Flurryous – Fifth Grade
We would like to thank the teachers and students who participated in the contest.
