The City of Nampa invites the community to participate in an interactive online platform and share feedback for the State Highway 16 Specific Area Plan (SAP) open now through September 12, 2022.
The State Highway 16 SAP will focus on the project area surrounding the north-south State Highway 16 expansion through the Treasure Valley, beginning at I-84 and traversing Nampa just west of McDermott Road. This plan will determine area-appropriate land use and public improvements.
Specific Area Plans provide planning agencies guidance on areas of special interest or concerns related to future developments. These plans focus on issues related to land use designations (industrial, commercial, residential), public infrastructure improvements (roads, sidewalks, parks, and pathways), and the potential for tailored design and development standards.
Public engagement in this process is essential to creating a document that meets the needs of the community and guides future action. The City of Nampa invites the public to visit the online platform at https://bit.ly/NampaSH16SAP and provide online comments, addressing preferences regarding land use types, transportation infrastructure, and bicycle and pedestrian routes within the project area. Following this online public comment phase, a draft plan will be prepared to reflect the community input received.
