On Wednesday, July 27 at 11:30 a.m., the City of Nampa invites the public to a ribbon cutting and the official opening of a new splash pad in Orah Brandt Park. After the ribbon cutting, the splash pad will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Darrin Johnson, Nampa’s Parks and Recreation Director said, “With the weather temperatures expected to reach over 100 degrees this week, it is a perfect time to get the splash pad opened. It is always fun to provide a new recreational amenity in our city that can be enjoyed by so many in our community.”
Construction at Orah Brandt Park began in 2018 and the park is being built in phases. The splash pad was part of phase 2. Phase 3 of the park is scheduled to start in the summer of 2023. At full completion, the park will be about 30 acres and offer amenities for a variety of age groups and interests. The Orah Brandt Park currently offers green space, a large playground, ample parking and walking trails. The future phases will include additional picnic shelters, disc golf, pickleball courts, swimming pool and a baseball and soccer field.
Orah Brandt Park is located at the intersection of Franklin Boulevard and Cherry Lane. The land was donated by Don Brandt and the park is being developed using Development Park Impact Fees. The Nampa Parks and Recreation Department is excited to invite the community for the opening of the new splash pad.
