Traditions Tang Soo Do
This class teaches self-confidence, builds self-esteem and improves balance, while establishing discipline and courtesy towards others. Participants will learn age appropriate self-defense and weapons training. These classes are non-violent; sparring is optional.
Clothing and Equipment
Students should wear loose fitting clothing, such as sweat pants and a t-shirt. No jewelry or watches during class. A mouth guard and a groin protector cup (males) are recommended.

Red Cross Lifeguard Training
This course is designed for experienced swimmers ages 15 and older that want to become Red Cross Lifeguards. Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certifications are awarded upon successful completion of the course. Course prerequisites are: 300-yard swim using front crawl and breaststroke, retrieval of a 10-pound brick from 7ft of water and two minutes of treading water with no hands. If you are unsure whether you can complete the prerequisites, sign up for a skills evaluation. Refund request must be made 4 business days before start of class.

Tai Chi Classes
The beginning class covers the fundamentals of Tai Chi including: basic movements, breathing, meditation, warm-up form and an introduction on the Yang Style Short form. The intermediate class continues with movements, breathing, meditation, the Yang Short form. The intermediate class continues with movements, breathing, meditation, the Yang Long form and an introduction to push hands (Tai Chi sparring).

Nampa Parks & Recreation’s Outdoor Functional Fitness
Get OFF the couch, turn OFF the phone, and take OFF those extra pounds! Join a certified trainer from the Harward Recreation Center outside at Lakeview Park (Maple Grove side) for FREE community fitness classes on our newly installed FitLot equipment. All abilities are encouraged to join this fun 60-minute circuit-based workout using functional cardio, strength, and flexibility exercises to achieve a full-body workout! Bring water, a towel and wear supportive athletic shoes.

Lock In for Kids Sponsored by Domino’s Pizza
Stay locked in at the Harward Rec Center all night and enjoy movies, swimming, games and a pizza party. Kids will enjoy movies, swimming, and games. Male and female supervisors will be with the children all night. Children should bring a sleeping bag, swim suit, towel and clothes to sleep in.

Cookie Decorating
Decorating cookies can be a tricky business! Come learn how to decorate some fancy cookies using royal icing and serve up some smiles. All supplies are provided, and each participant will take home at least six decorated cookies.

Ultimate Frisbee League
Our league is a low cost and exciting way to play Ultimate Frisbee whether you’re an experienced player or an athlete looking to utilize your unique skills in a new game. Each team will play 8 games on Saturday mornings followed by a single elimination tournament. Games are played 7 on 7 with a minimum of 2 girls. Games begin April 16 at Liberty Park.

Summer League Softball Men’s and Coed
If you’re looking for opportunities to exercise in the great summer outdoors, socialize, and maybe some healthy competition, then we welcome you to our league. Each league will have multiple divisions to meet the needs of each team from the more experienced A division teams to the more recreational players that are just ready to have fun in the C division. Each team will play ten regular season games with a double elimination tournament to follow. Teams may play two games a week. Games begin May 9-August 5.

Strength Training for Women
This six-week course will cover a variety of equipment and free weights helping you to feel more comfortable in the weight room. You will learn more about weight room etiquette and jargon, safe and effective training techniques, the five fitness components and their benefits, and have lots of time to practice what you learn!

Swan Falls Dam
Join us as we tour the Historic Dam built in 1901. After the tour we will enjoy a box lunch in Swan Falls Park. On our return trip we will stop for an optional walk to enjoy the view from Dedication Point Overlook. Trip includes transportation, tour, lunch and water.

American Red Cross Babysitter Training
In this one-day class learn information and skills necessary to provide safe and responsible care for children in the absence of parents and guardians. Course includes handbook, Emergency Reference Guide and CD with fun activities and support resources. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Red Cross Babysitter Training. Please bring a sack lunch.

See the Falls
On this trip we will visit Malad Gorge State Park, Twin Falls Visitor’s Center, Shoshone Falls Park, and Twin Falls Park. Bring your camera and sense of wonder for this spring drive. We will eat lunch at the visitor’s center in Twin Falls. Trip includes transportation, entrances and lunch.

Making Macarons
The Macaron is a French pastry that is known for its shape and composition. Although tricky to make, you can learn how to create this delicate dessert and impress your friends and family with your new skill! Please bring your own hand mixer; participants will take home 8-12 macarons.
