12th Avenue Safety & Access Study

The Study

Study Overview

The City of Nampa and the Idaho Transportation Department completed a safety study along 12th Avenue, between 7th Street South and Lake Lowell Avenue. The goals of the study were to:
  • Identify transportation safety issues in the corridor for all modes of travel (vehicle, pedestrian, bicycle)
  • Gather input from various corridor users to help the project team understand existing safety concerns and recommend improvements
  • Recommend and prioritize safety improvements

Proposed Solutions

Proposed solutions include two pedestrian activated signals, reduced left turn movements and improving the curve at Roosevelt. Proposed solutions can be viewed on the following display boards:

Public Involvement

An open house was held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Nampa High School from 5 to 7 p.m. The project was also included in a Wednesday, December 7, 2015 public information meeting at Nampa High School from 5 to 7 p.m.
