High-tech is one of Idaho's largest and fastest growing industries, dating as far back as the 1970's. However, just in the last decade the number has increased by over 61%. The majority of those tech companies are located right here in the Boise-Nampa Valley, and Nampa is right at the center of it all with the third major manufacturing sector being technology. Nampa hosts companies such as; ON Semiconductor which manufactures image sensors for backup cameras and Plexus; a custom manufacturer making everything from medical equipment to infotainment centers for Tesla.

Idaho TechConnect : TechConnect maintains a resource file of business professionals interested in opportunities to join new and existing business teams. They actively support Kickstand networking events, as well as organize TechLaunch, an annual business pitch contest designed to educate and provide a stage for entrepreneurs and students to practice and hone their pitch in front of the business/investment community. TechConnect also operates Kickstand chapters in Moscow, Twin Falls and Idaho Falls. |
Kickstand: As an entrepreneur support organization, Kickstand’s overriding mission is to help their members’ network, learn and grow. Kickstand meetings are held the second Thursday of every month at 5:30pm at the Watercooler in Boise’s Linen District at 14th & Idaho. Idaho Technology Council : The Idaho Technology Council provides a valuable networking resource for industry executives, potential partners, academic leaders, investors, government and customers. They exist to connect, inform and promote the technology companies in Idaho and is dedicated to foster the growth of technology companies in the state, primarily in the areas of information technology, agriscience, and energy. BSU, Technology and Entrepreneurial Center (TECenter): Located on Boise State University's West Campus in Nampa, the TECenter offers start-up and early stage technology company entrepreneurs the expertise, networks and tools they need to succeed. Girls in Tech: Girls in Tech is a social network enterprise focused on the engagement, education and empowerment of like-minded, professional, intelligent and influential women in technology. Tech Boise: They spotlight the people and companies making a difference in Boise, Meridian, and the greater Treasure Valley.
