Expand & Relocate

Nampa can provide the business environment and support that your business needs to start and grow. Where your business possibilities and opportunities are endless when   considering a business expansion or relocation.

The City of Nampa is built on the philosophy that recruitment of new business into Nampa, along with business retention and expansion, is a vital component to economic prosperity and offers connectivity and rooted values to the economic profile of our community.

Nampa's biggest advantage to its friendly business climate, low unemployment rate, affordable cost of living and low cost of doing business. While most think of Idaho being synonymous with agriculture, the economy in Idaho today is rooted in technology and food processing. Nampa is home to many successful well-known companies and entrepreneurs, that began as small start-up companies.

On top of that, there is great institutional support for entrepreneurs. Our City is home to one of the top technology and entrepreneurial centers, Boise State University TECenter, along with the College of Western Idaho (CWI) and Northwest Nazarene University (NNU). In addition, there are many other private and public schools/universities right in our back yard.

Nampa has seen retail trade and services expand in the community over the years; such as Saint Alphonsus and St. Luke’s regional medical centers, two large shopping centers, and increased commercial activity in Downtown Nampa all provide goods and services to the city’s growing population.

In addition, Nampa is well known for being a family oriented community where the average age is 30, 7 years younger than the national average. We have nearly 90,000 residents and are located just 12 miles west of Boise. As part of the Boise-Nampa MSA, Nampa businesses have access to the largest and most diverse labor pool in the state. We are centrally located within the metro area and an ideal location to reach all western US markets. As a full-service community, here is just a "taste" of what we have to offer.

As a region, the Boise Valley has great commutability with an average commute time of 20 minutes. Each of the cities within the valley experience both inflow and outflow of employees, truly creating one labor shed.

Incentives

We have a progressive city government that was the first to adopt a wastewater incentive policy to support industry. With that history we quickly established a local incentive fund when the Tax Reimbursement Incentive was introduced in order to support business and participate with local match. We recognize that time is of the essence; our expedited and phased permit process will assist you in getting your new buildings constructed quickly.
