2022/2023 Airfield Construction

2022/2023 Airfield Construction - UPDATED WORK SCHEDULE - Updated 05/03/2023

Thank you for your support and patience for our 2022/2023 asphalt maintenance project. While crews were here in September 2022, they applied temporary pavement markings. Weather conditions prevented the final pavement markings last fall.

Now that the weather has gotten warmer and the seal coat has had time to cure, crews will be returning to apply the final permanent pavement markings. This process will impact the entire airfield; the runway, all taxilanes/taxiways and hangar access.

The project will begin at 8:00am Monday, June 5, 2023, and end at 5:00pm Wednesday, June 7, 2023.
During these 3-days the airfield will be closed.

The entire airfield will be closed to all air and ground traffic during the 3-day closure window. You will be unable to access your hangar.  No exceptions!

The closure dates are dependent on the weather, in the event of a change we will do our best to notify you.   Project updates can be found on our website, www.flynampa.us

We appreciate your ongoing patience during this process and know that the end result will be worth a bit of inconvenience. If you have any questions, please contact our office.

Final pavement markings will occur late April or early May 2023. We will send letters to our tenants once the closure schedule is determined. Thank you for your patience during this project.

Final Pavement Marking Closure October 31 - November 2, 2022: POSTPONED DUE TO UPCOMING WEATHER

The final pavement marking closure has been postponed due to upcoming temperatures and potential rain during the scheduled closure dates.  The decision has been made to complete the final markings in the spring when temperatures warm back up.  Once the spring closure dates are established, we will send letters to our tenants and place signs on the field with the updated closure information.

Thank you all for your ongoing patience during this project.

September 2022 Airfield Construction - UPDATED WORK SCHEDULE

In accordance with Federal grant assurances, the Nampa Airport implemented an asphalt maintenance plan for the airport. You are receiving this letter because the project will impact the entire airfield; the runway, all taxilanes/taxiways and hangar access. (See attached map)

FAA Grant Assurance #2 states in part “for the replacement or reconstruction of pavement at the airport, (the City) assures or certifies that it has implemented an effective airport pavement maintenance-management program and it assures that it will use such program for the useful life of any pavement constructed, reconstructed or repaired with Federal financial assistance at the airport.”

Through a combination of grants from the FAA and State of Idaho Aeronautics Division, the project will crack fill and seal coat federally funded pavements and city owned pavements.

The project is scheduled for 17 days total. The project will begin September 7, 2022. (UPDATED DATE) Throughout the project there will be airfield closures. In an effort to mitigate the impact to our tenants the project will be broken into four phases. (See Map Below)

·        Phase 2: September 12-15 – Runway, Parallel Taxiway and SW Corner

To secure parking at Caldwell, Airport Administration may be reached at 208-459-9779.

During Phases 1,3, and 4 the contractor will keep as close to the schedule as possible.  These dates may flex.  If you will be flying during these times, please make arraignments for alternate parking on the airport prior to the project occurring in your area.  You will be unable to access your hangar while the contractor is working in your area.
