City of Nampa Creative Contest for the HolidaysMayor Kling is excited to host TWO community contests for artwork or encouraging words ahead of the holiday season. The first is for the City of Nampa's official Christmas card and the second is to fill the story walk trail at Lakeview Park. See below for more information on contest guidelines.

STORY WALK TRAIL IN LAKEVIEW PARK : "THANKFUL NAMPA"

Story Trail MAPMayor Kling is also seeking artwork or stories for the story walk trail in Lakeview Park! We would love to showcase stories, poems, pictures, drawings or other creative ways to share ways you are thankful in November.

GUIDELINES:

  • Items can be any shape, but should be no larger than 11x17 in size and flat as they will be under a plexiglass panel.
  • Items should depict in either artwork or words expressions of thankfulness.

TO SUBMIT:

Email: Submit an electronic copy to bowmana@cityofnampa.us. 

Mail/Drop Off: Deliver to the Mayor’s Office, located at Nampa City Hall (411 3rd Street South) or mail to:

PLEASE INCLUDE: 

  • First and last name of the artist
  • Artist age

    DEADLINE: Designs must be submitted by Monday, November 1, 2021, to be considered.

    SELECTION: A selection committee will vote to make as many selections as possible to fill the story trail displays. An announcement will be made by the second week of November.  Please note, we are happy to return the original artwork selected to be displayed if requested.

    By uploading my original artwork or text, I understand it will be considered to be displayed on Nampa's StoryWalk trail in Lakeview Park. If selected, I give my permission for the City of Nampa to reprint and use my submission in promotional materials including, but not limited to, social media, Nextdoor and on the City's website. I also understand that, if selected, the City may need to rescan the original artwork for final production and will work with staff to provide artwork if needed.

NAMPA'S OFFICIAL CHRISTMAS CARD CONTEST!

Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling is holding a design contest for the city’s official Christmas card! Students up to 18 years of age who live in Nampa are invited to submit an original piece of artwork for the contest. The creator of the winning Christmas card will receive a special gift from Mayor Kling and be publicly recognized.

ARTWORK GUIDELINES: 

    Can be landscape or portrait and be in any flat medium (paint, crayon, pencil, watercolor, etc.)
    Be up to 11x17 in size, but please note the artwork will be scanned if needed and resized to fit a 5x7 card so a 5x7 design space is recommended.
    Feature a holiday landscape or celebration; preferably one with recognizable Nampa landmarks or landscapes.
