Winter Driving Tips

  • In extreme winter conditions, do not drive unless necessary.
  • If you must drive, exercise extreme caution. Driving on hard snowpack and icy roads requires your full attention and demands your best driving skills.
  • Have adequate snow and/or recommend legal tread depth on tires. Bald tires are extremely hazardous in winter driving conditions. Keep chains in vehicle and use on tires when necessary.
  • Remember to brake slowly and leave adequate room between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you.
  • Be patient and courteous.
  • Drive defensively and at reduced speeds.
  • Allow sufficient travel time to reach your destination.
