Sewer Rate Increase

Wastewater Division Rate Increase

Nampa must make improvements to our wastewater treatment and disposal facility in order to meet new federal regulations. To fund the needed improvements, a sewer rate increase for all Nampa residents, businesses and industries went into effect on October 1, 2013.

Residential customers can expect to see a 21% to 27% increase in their sewer bills. Industry and some commercial and business customers will have a more significant rate increase.

Your new sewer bill is based on:

  • The amount of water used each month. Sewer bills are based on water usage, which is measured by your water meter. You can find how much water you use by looking at your utility bill.
  • The cost of treating wastewater. Classification for each utility customer is determined by the type of wastewater treatment needed. The City has completed a study to determine the cost of treating each customer wastewater class.
  • Wastewater fixed rate. The City charges all customers a fixed rate of $14.48 per bill ($7.24 each month) for the associated costs of bill processing, customer service and utility administration.
