The City of Nampa invites the public to attend and participate in the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee meeting Thurs., November 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Nampa Civic Center (311 3rd St. S., Nampa, ID 83651).
The November 15 meeting, the second of three community meetings, will focus on the future land use map. The future land use map is the community’s visual guide to future planning. The map details the type of development the community would like to see over time and is used to justify zoning requests.
The Comprehensive Plan is used to guide growth and development in Nampa. The plan is meant to represent the community's vision about where different types of development should occur and how quality of life can be enhanced for all residents. The plan covers a range of topics including economic development, housing, land use, transportation, parks and public services.
Nampa's current Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2012 after a two-year intensive process with participation from more than 300 residents. With continued growth, a detailed review of the plan and its goals is now warranted. The current Comprehensive Plan looks to the year 2035 and this update will consider needs up to the year 2040.
The Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee is open to community members who would like to provide feedback at open houses and through surveys. If you are willing to serve on the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee, please RSVP to Karla Nelson, Community Planner at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 208-468-4434. Additional opportunities and documents will be posted at http://www.cityofnampa.us/compplan.
