Nampa Mayor Bob Henry is seeking applications for the city’s Planning & Zoning Commission. Commission member Victor Rodriguez will be sworn in as a city council member of Jan. 2. Applicants must be city of Nampa residents.

The Planning & Zoning Commission meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Nampa City Hall.

Nine appointed citizens research, survey, analyze, and make recommendations on current and long-range land development policies, resource management, implementing ordinances and administrative decisions such as subdivision plats, rezone requests, conditional use permits, zoning ordinance amendments, and annexations. Members serve six years.

The commission functions as a fact finding and advisory board to the City Council, but its main function is to recommend a comprehensive plan and implementing measures to be adopted by the City Council.

Letters of interest expressing reasons for wanting to serve on the commission should be emailed to mayor@cityofnampa.us by 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8.
