Mayor Henry seeks applications for Building and Fire Code Advisory Board

Nampa Mayor Bob Henry seeks applications from citizens who are interested in serving on the Building and Fire Code Advisory Board. The board meets annually and when there is an appeal for a code issue.

The board shall serve to determine the suitability of alternate materials and methods of construction and to provide reasonable interpretations of the international building and fire codes and amendments thereto as provided in this code.

Qualified applicants must be qualified by experience, association or training to evaluate matters pertaining to building construction. Applications are being sought for the following:

  1. One residential building contractor
  2. One commercial contractor
  3. One member from a construction support industry
  4. One Idaho licensed architect
  5. One Idaho licensed structural engineer
  6. One citizen at large
  7. One individual who is qualified by his/her experience as a fire prevention officer in another jurisdiction
  8. One additional member qualified in any of the above referenced categories shall be appointed to serve as an alternate whenever there is a vacancy or absence on the board.

Applicants should email a letter of interest and qualifications to mayor@cityofnampa.us. Or mail the application to the Mayor’s Office, 411 3rd St. S., Nampa, ID 83651. The deadline is 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13. Members are appointed by Mayor Bob Henry and confirmed by the City Council.
