Mobile Farmers Market comes to North Nampa

In a continued effort to improve access to healthy food the Boise Mobile Farmers Market will come to North Nampa each Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. during the month of September. The mobile farmers market was established in 2015 to bring healthy food into neighborhoods. This is the first time that the mobile market has come to Nampa.

Customers can enter the mobile unit to shop for healthy produce, eggs and beans. For this pilot program, the mobile market will locate at Terry Reilly Health Services on 16th Avenue North. The location was selected to be noticeable and convenient, especially for those who lack transportation in North Nampa.

Mobile Market Manager, Tamara Cameron said that “prices are lower than a typical farmers market.” The mobile market accepts cash, debit, credit cards and EBT.

It costs $150 per day to run the mobile market. Community members have stepped up to sponsor this pilot program for September 2017 and May 2018. If the pilot program is successful more community sponsors will be needed to continue the program.
