City of Nampa begins installation of two HAWKS to improve safety for Wilson Pathway users

WilsonvPathvHAWKS - Pathway Closure map

The city of Nampa will begin construction at two locations to improve pedestrian safety and mobility on Monday, July 24. The projects will install HAWKs (High-Intensity Activated crossWalk beacons) and include ADA pedestrian ramps, lighting and pavement markings for two Wilson Pathway crossings at:

  • South Midland Boulevard
  • Lake Lowell Avenue

A portion of Wilson Pathway will be closed during construction between two access points, located 700 feet south of Lake Lowell Avenue to 600 feet west of South Midland Boulevard until construction is complete in November. See attached map.

Hawkeye Builders is the contractor for the installation.

The $600,000 installation is made possible through partnership with Idaho Transportation Department’s federal Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) funds and city funds. City funding is approximately 29 percent of project costs.

Visit the city’s project webpage at http://www.cityofnampa.us/Projects for more information on these project and others under construction in Nampa. If you have questions, please call 465-2221 or email projects@cityofnampa.us.
