Southside Boulevard will be closed to traffic the week of July 24

Southside Boulevard between Lexi’s Lane and Wilson Lane will be closed to traffic beginning the morning of Monday, July 24, and will reopen the afternoon of Friday, July 28. Crews are installing a pressurized irrigation pipeline in the area between East Iowa Avenue and Wilson Lane. The contractor initially planned to reduce traffic to one lane but determined that a full closure will reduce the overall construction schedule. Motorists will be detoured around the project area but access to adjacent properties will be maintained. The detour route is:

  • Greenhurst Road to Powerline Road to Amity Avenue

The $111,000 project will install a pressurized irrigation pipeline and pressure reducing valve along Southside. The Oakhurst station will be transferred from the upper zone to the lower zone. Construction is expected to take approximately three weeks.
