Intersection of Happy Valley and Locust Lane to reopen July 7

irrigation sprinkler

The city of Nampa plans a July 7 opening of the Happy Valley and Locust Lane intersection after completing construction of a pressure irrigation pipeline. The project took longer than predicted because of unforeseen issues including:

  • Existing utility infrastructure that forced crews to place the new line in the roadway instead of the shoulder.
  • Crews discovered rock, requiring special equipment to bore through it, making the placement of the pipe much more difficult.

“We know the extended detour has been an inconvenience to motorists and adjacent residents. We appreciate their patience, and are happy to be finishing the project and reopening the roadway,” said city Project Manager and Assistant City Engineer Jeff Barnes.

The project will improve irrigation pressure in the area while providing additional capacity for future economic growth.
