Members of the Nampa Wastewater Advisory Group will meet for the third time on Wednesday, June 14, to provide their input on preferred long-term improvements to Nampa’s wastewater system. The meeting will run from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Nampa Civic Center, 311 3rd St. S. The public is welcome to attend.
The advisory group includes community members and technical experts who have volunteered to give feedback on potential improvements to Nampa’s wastewater system. New state and federal regulations are requiring the city to lower the phosphorus and temperature levels of its treated wastewater over the next several years.
At the June 14 meeting, group members will review the outcome of an in-depth analysis of the range of alternatives for upgrading Nampa’s wastewater system. Information regarding the repair and replacement needs to existing wastewater facilities will also be discussed. The city will ask for the group to identify their preference for long-term improvements. The group is expected to meet three additional times in 2017.
Wastewater includes used water from dishwashers, toilets, industrial operations and other sources.
