City of Nampa announces Dec. 7 open house to review safety projects

The city of Nampa will host an open house between 5 and 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Nampa High School’s cafeteria to present information about several transportation safety projects either underway or pending.


The open house will give city residents and business owners a chance to learn details about the projects and talk with city staff and/or consultants for the projects.


Those projects include:


·         12th Avenue Safety and Access Study

·         HAWK installation at 12th Avenue South & Sherman Avenue

·         HAWK Installation at 12th Avenue South and 11th Street South

·         Medians on 12th Avenue from Dewey Avenue to Lincoln Avenue

·         Two Rapid Flashing Beacon crossings to improve pedestrian safety at Nampa High School and Canyon Street on Lake Lowell Avenue

·         Rapid Flashing Beacon crossing at Centennial Elementary on Lake Lowell Avenue

·         Rapid Flashing Beacon crossing and sidewalk at Iowa Elementary on Iowa Avenue 

·         Rapid Flashing Beacon crossings at Skyview High School at Powerline Road and Blakeslee Drive.

·         Extension of the new Downtown pathway at 14th & Front Street from 15th Avenue South to 17th Avenue South
